You certainly know about Huacaya Alpacas, but do you know about Suri Alpacas? These gracious animals have draping locks of lustrous silky fibre. They represent about 4% of all alpacas. Once it’s spun, its fiber is similar to mohair - only thicker and fluffier. You can easily substitute two strings of mohair with one of suri. Vous connaissez sûrement les alpagas huacayas, mais connaissez-vous les alpagas suris? Ces magnifiques bêtes ont une robe formée de longues mèches lustrées. Elles représentent environ 4% de la population totale d’alpagas. Une fois filée, la fibre offre une version plus épaisse et plus moelleuse du mohair. Un brin de suri peut facilement remplacer 2 brins de mohair.
