Last week, I decided to knit myself a first Ranunculus, this pattern so well known and celebrated many times by all the people who knit around me. I wasn't sure what yarn I was going to use, and when we received our shipment of CORA organic cotton by weight... I cracked! My vision was clear, I wanted a small cropped t-shirt with a vintage look. I know that cotton is not the ideal fiber to make lace, but since the Ranunculus is knitted with a very fine yarn on large needles (I used the 6mm recommended by the designer), the lace has less opening, and therefore the blocking step is not as crucial to the final rendering as on a pattern like the Pink Fizz. I started last Saturday, and a few days later, I had this perfect little summer sweater in my hands! I love it !
Here is the information you need to know:
1. After blocking, the sweater relaxed and weighed down a lot. I anticipate that it might get bigger the more I wear it.
2. I used 152 grams of CORA cotton. I suggest you buy a slightly higher quantity if you plan to make a sample or lengthen it.
3. I followed the pattern guidelines for body length. I'm 5'8 and the sweater falls over the top of my hips:
4. For the sleeves, I kept my stitches on hold as if I was going to do the long sleeves, and after picking them up, I knit 4 rows of knit stitches and 4 rows of twisted rib to have a "t-shirt" effect.
5. In terms of transparency... Personally, I'm comfortable wearing it with a simple bralette underneath (as in the photo), but you can see through it a bit.
6. I have a 37.5 inch bust! I followed the pattern instructions for raglan increases after the yoke.
7. This is a super affordable project, which will cost between $20 and $30 depending on how much you buy! And since it's also really quick to knit, I'm at peace that it might not be as durable as a sweater knitted in a cotton and wool or silk blend.
8. Mine was knitted in the color “Écru”, but all the colors we have in CORA are beautiful and will do the pattern justice.

NECESSARY MATERIAL:
- Between 150 and 200 grams of CORA cotton .
- 6mm needles with a 16 inch cable and with a 24 inch cable (or more according to your preference). I suggest using metal needles: I started with my Driftwood needles from Lykke but the cotton was sticking and slowing my knitting pace significantly.
