Realization

Step 1 • The Ankle

Cast on 36 (40, 44) stitches with 3.5 mm double pointed needles and join in the round, taking care not to twist the stitches. Knit in 2/2 rib for 10 cm.

Continue in stockinette stitch with 4 mm needles for 5 rows.

Step 2 • The Heel

The heel will be knitted back and forth on half of the stitches.

R1 (right side) *Slip a stitch, knit a stitch* repeat from * to * on the 18 (20, 22) stitches and put the next 18 (20, 22) stitches on hold. From now on, work will be done on the first 18 (20, 22) stitches. Turn the work.

R2 (purl) Slip one stitch, purl 17 (19, 21) stitches. Turn the work.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 for a total of 23 rows, ending with a knit row.

Step 3. The Heel

Preparation row (wrong side) Slip a stitch, knit 10 (11, 12) meV, 2 Tog, 1 meV, turn and leave the remaining 4 (5, 6) stitches waiting on the needle.

R1 (right side) Slip a stitch, 5 meD, GGT, 1 meD, turn and leave the 4 (5, 6) sts. remaining pending on the needle.

R2 (wrong side) Slip a stitch, 6 meV, 2 Tog, 1 meV, leave the 2 (3, 4) sts. remaining hold and turn.

R3 (right side) Slip a stitch, 7 meD, GGT, 1 meD, leave the 2 (3, 4) sts. remaining hold and turn.

R4 (wrong side) Slip a stitch, 8 meV, 2 Tog, 1 meV, leave the 0 (1, 2) sts. remaining hold and turn.

R5 (right side) Slip a stitch, 9 meD, GGT, 1 meD, leave the 0 (1, 2) sts. remaining hold and turn.

For size XS

R6 (wrong side) Slip a stitch, 9 meV, P2, turn.

R7 (right side) Slip a stitch, 8 mD, GGT = 10 sts. Do not turn. Go to step 4

For size SM

R8 (wrong side) Slip a stitch, 10 meV, P2, turn.

R9 (right side) Slip a stitch, 10 mD, GGT = 12 sts. Do not turn.

Go to step 4.

For size L

R8 (wrong side) Slip a stitch, 10 meV, 2Tog, 1 meV, turn.

R9 (RS) Slip a stitch, 11 sts, GGT, 1 sts, turn.

R10 (wrong side) Slip a stitch, 11 meV, 2 Tog, turn.

R11 (RS ) Slip a stitch, 10 sts, GGT = 12 sts. Do not turn.

Go to step 4.

Step 4 The Gusset

Distribute each half of the heel stitches on 2 needles. So 5 (6, 6) stitches on each needle.

Go back up by knitting 11 stitches along the left side of the heel and knit an increase between the heel and the top of the foot.

On this needle, we will therefore have: 5 (6, 6) sts. from heel + 12 sts. picked up = 17 (18, 18) sts.

With a new needle, knit the 18 (20, 22) sts. from the top of the foot.

With a new needle, knit an increase between the top of the foot and the heel and pick up 11 stitches along the right side. Knit the last 5 (6, 6) heel sts in a row = 17 (18, 18) sts.

The sock is now divided into 3 parts.

We will now form the gusset by decreasing as follows:

R1

  • Needle 1 Knit up to 3 sts. before end, 2 tog, 1 st.
  • Needle 2 Knit the 18 (20, 22) sts.
  • Needle 3 1 meD, GGT, finish the needle.

R2 All right side up

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you have 9 (10, 11) sts on needle 1 and 3.

Step 5 • The Foot

Knit up to 14 (15.5, 16.5) cm in length from the heel line. To get the perfect length for your foot, you can also try on the sock.

Decreases for the toe begin at the root of the big toe.

Step 6 • Tiptoe

We will now form the tip of the foot by decreasing on each needle.

R1

  • Needle 1 Knit up to 3 m. before the end, 2 Ens, 1 meD.
  • Needle 2 1 meD, GGt, knit up to 3 sts. before the end, 2 Ens, 1 meD.
  • Needle 3 1 meD, GGT, finish the needle.

R2 Everything right side up.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you have 3 sts. on needle 1 and 3 and 6 sts. on needle 2.

At the end of row 2, knit the stitches from needle 1 on the same needle.

You now have 2 needles with 6 stitches each and corresponding to the top of the foot and the bottom of the foot.

Step 7 • The Kitchener Stitch

Readiness rank

Needle 1 (front) Pass the needle through the first stitch as if to purl it and leave it on the needle.

Needle 2 (behind): Pass the needle through the first stitch as if to knit it and leave it on the needle.

Step 1 (on the front needle):

Pass the needle through the first stitch as if to knit it and let it fall off the needle. Pass the needle through the next stitch as if purling it and leave it on the needle.

Step 2 (on the back needle):

Pass the needle through the first stitch as if purling it and let it fall off the needle. Pass the needle through the next stitch as if to knit it and leave it on the needle.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you run out of stitches. Pass the thread inside the sock and tuck it in. Tuck in all the other threads.
