  • One (1) pair of 3mm circular needle 40cm in circumference
    • One (1) pair of 4 mm circular needle (US 6) 40 cm in circumference
    • For size 0/3 months, the 3 mm and 4 mm (US 6) needles must be double pointed.
    • Four (4) 4mm (US 6) double pointed needles
    • One (1) round tipped needle

    Cast on 66 (72, 84, 96) stitches on 3mm circular needles with the orange yarn. Join in the round, taking care not to twist the stitches on the first row.

    Knit 6 rows all in place. Then change to 4 mm circular needles as follows:

    Size 3/6 months: * 11 meD, 1 meV * repeat from * to * on the whole row up to 14 cm in height.

    Knit 3 rows of i-cord over these sts. Then knit 2 Tog and 1 st. There will remain 2 (2, 2, 3 m)

    Knit 2 rows in i-cord on these sts.

    The sheet (Optional)

    With 4mm double pointed needles and the color green, cast on 3 stitches and knit in I-cord for 5 rows. The whole sheet is knitted in garter stitch.

    R1 and 2: All right side up

    R3: Inc, 1 st, Inc = 5 sts

    R4, 6, 8, 10: spot

    R5: Inc, 3 sts, Inc = 7 sts

    R7: Inc, 5 sts, Inc = 9 sts

    R9: Inc, 7 sts, Inc = 11 sts

    R11, 13, 15: 1 st, tog 2, knit to last 3 sts, tog 2, 1 st

    R12, 14, 16, 18: end

    R17: 1 st, 3 Tog, 1 st

    R19: 3 together.

    Pass the thread through the remaining stitch and tuck the thread. Sew the leaf to the base of the stem.

    The twist (optional)

    Cast on 20 stitches with the 3 mm needles and the color green.

    Knit 1 row increasing as follows: knit in the front, back then front loop of each stitch = 60 stitches.

    On the next row cast off all sts purlwise.

    With your finger, give a spiral shape to your tortillon and sew it to the base of the stem.

    Finishes

    Cast off the remaining sts and tuck in the threads.

    Knit in 2/2 rib for 7 (8, 8) cm in height.

    Continue with 3.5 mm needles in stockinette stitch, distributing 4 intercalary increases on the first row = 32 (36, 40) stitches. When 6 (7, 8) cm in height from the end of the ribs, begin the decreases for the end of the hand as follows:
