Realization

Cast on 96 (104) stitches. Place a marker ring and join in the round, taking care not to twist the stitches.

Knit 6 rows, purl one row, knit 6 rows then fold the knitting into a hem by knitting together the stitch on the left needle with a stitch picked up on the cast-on row. Attention, it is necessary to take the stitch of the cast-on row at the same level as the stitch of the left needle.

Knit another 2 cm then knit an increase row as follows: *1 sc, MDD* until the end of the row = 144 (156) stitches.

Change to 3.25 mm needles for a total height of 13 cm.

Then place 5 other marker rings to mark the locations of the decreases as follows: Knit 24 (26) stitches and place a marker ring until the end of the row.

Start the decreases as follows: * Knit up to 2 stitches before the marker ring, knit 2 stitches together * repeat from * to * until the end of the row = 6 stitches decreased.

Repeat this row of decreases until you have 6 stitches. Switch to double pointed needles when the knit becomes too tight.

Then knit * 1 stitch, 2 stitches together * 2 times = 4 stitches.

Knit in I-cord for 5 rows then cut the thread about fifteen centimeters from the knitting, pass it through the 4 stitches then tuck it in.

Wash the beret in a washing solution for Eucalan-type wool, leaving it to soak for about twenty minutes.

Let it dry by inserting a plate a few centimeters under the first decrease of 25 (27) cm in diameter.
