AI left spacer increase: With the left needle, lift the spacer thread between the 2 stitches from front to back. Then knit this new stitch in the back yarn.

2 Tog Knit 2 stitches together

Insert the Thrum into the mitten Insert the right needle in the stitch of the row below the next stitch of the left needle. Gently twist the carded wool to make it more like a thread and place this thrum at the end of the right needle. Holding the 2 ends of the thrum to keep it even on the needle, pull the loop towards you under the lowest loop. Leave the thrum on the right needle, and knit the next stitch from the left needle. Finally, pass the thrum over the stitch that has just been knitted and pull it a little so that it tightens.

Realization

With the set of 3.5 mm double pointed needles cast on 32 (36, 40) stitches. Join in the round taking care not to twist the stitches.

The mitten is started at the wrist.

Knit 1/1 rib for 5 rows.

Change to 4mm needles.

Knit 2 rows then start the pattern with the thrums as follows:

For all sizes now:

Continue following the pattern of the thrums until the mitt measures 8/9/10'' from the cast-on row.

Begin the decreases for the end of the hand:

You can decide whether or not to thrum on that part of the mitt. The fact of incorporating them will bring warmth to your fingertips!

Begin the decreases as follows:

Decrease row: [1 mD, 2 Tog] repeat across row.

Repeat this decrease row until you have a total of 5 stitches. Cut the thread about ten centimeters from the knitting and pass it through the 5 remaining stitches.

Thumb

Slip the 7 (9/11) stitches on hold onto a needle. Join the thread and knit them. Pick up 7 (9/11) stitches on the opposite side on the hand and knit them. Arrange the stitches obtained on 3 needles.

Row 1: 5 (7/ 9) meD, 2 Ens, 7 (9/ 11) meD.

Row 2: Knit all sts following the thrum pattern.

Repeat row 2 until the thumb measures 2'' (2.25'', 2.5'') from the stitches cast up.
