A classic Recipe to knit a pair of socks with a sport yarn

  Once you've made it through the winter with a good pair of hand-knitted socks, they're hard to get enough of!

 With 6-ply or sport wools, knitting a pair is a snap for warm socks ideal for hiking and outdoor activities, or just lazing around the cottage.

 This pattern is a classic recipe for adult socks. Explanations are given for double-pointed needles, easily adaptable to other circular techniques.

Sizes (adult pattern)

1, 2 and 3 for a foot circumference of : 21 [22.5, 24] cm / 8½ [9, 9½]” 

Gauge

26 sts x 34 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm with 2.75 mm needles (US 2)

Material 

• 150 gr Sport size sock yarn 
• One set of 2.75 mm (US 2) double point needles
  or a pair of 2.75 mm (US 2) circular needles in 80 cm / 32” size
• A wool needle
