KAL 2025 “The vibrant striped tunic”

A superb project to knit together over the 12 months of the year 2025

This "vibrant striped" tunic appeared in July 1979 in the famous magazine "100 Idées".

Céline discovered the magazine and the pattern in her grandmother's cupboards and it was love at first sight!

The vibrant striped tunic is the first sweater on her needles, the beginning of a passion that will lead to... the Knitted House.

26 years later, Céline invites you to knit together a "remastered" version of this tunic. We will knit it in the round and the charts will be redrawn with today's tools for greater clarity.

This project will be a KAL spread over the 12 months of 2025 (knit-a-long in English = knitting the same project in a group).

12 months to knit 3 to 4 strips per month with the support of our warm Knitting community. A public group will be created on Facebook and Slack to share our progress and stay motivated.

Detail on the tunic

The pattern is free and will be posted on our site with several changes. It will be rewritten to be knitted in the round. The charts will be redrawn individually for maximum clarity. To see the original version, click here: CLICK

The size is unique and has a chest circumference of 128 cm for a total length of 85 cm.

The tunic is knitted with 3 mm needles or any other needle that allows you to obtain a sample of 28 sts x 32 rows in jacquard.

Each strip uses 2 colors.

The project calls for a total of 16 colors.
