• 1 skein of 100% superwash Merino wool by Fox Trail (345 m by 115 g)
• 1 circular needles 40 cm circumference 3.5 mm
• 1 circular needle 40 cm circumference 4 mm
• 1 set of 4 mm double-pointed needles
• 1 wool needle
• 1 marker ring

Sample

19 sts x 26 rows for 10 cm by 10 cm with 4 mm needles in circular stockinette stitch. Important : check the sample and adapt the needle number if necessary.

Realization

Using 3.5 mm needles, cast on 77 stitches and join in the round, taking care not to twist the stitches.

row 1: Right side up.

row 2: Everything backwards.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 for 7 times in total (14 rows knitted in total).

Change to 4mm needles as follows:

10 rows, 1 row purl. Repeat these 11 rows a total of 5 times.

Then start the decreases as follows: (switch to double pointed needles when the knit becomes too tight).

row 1: knit 2 stitches together over the entire row and finish with 1 knit stitch - 39 stitches.

row 2: Right side up.

row 3: 2 stitches knit together across the entire row and finish with 1 knit stitch - 20 stitches.

row 4: right side up.

row 5: 2 stitches knitted together across the entire row - 10 stitches.

Cut the thread about ten centimeters from the knitting and pass the thread through the 10 remaining stitches. Tuck in all the wires. Make a pompom and attach it to the top of the hat.
