Peruvian is a classic 4-ply yarn made from 100% wool. The wool we use for Peruvian comes from Peruvian highland sheep, a cross between the Corriedale and the Merino. The sheep graze in the Peruvian highlands, which helps give the wool an extra fluffy and wonderfully matte appearance.
Peruvian wool is spun in worsted yarn, which makes the strands round and very regular. This gives a beautiful definition to the stitches and Peruvian is therefore ideal for cables, textured stitches and jacquard.
The Peruvian is suitable for all kinds of projects - knitting or crochet - and the work can be felted. The assortment of colors allows for free rein in creativity.
Mulesing is not used on Peruvian highland sheep.
