Royal Alpaca is a wool dream come true. Spun from the best selection of alpaca fiber, between 18.5 and 19.5 microns (only 1% of global alpaca wool production), this wool is as soft as cashmere with the advantage of being more durable and resistant. The Royal II is spun "Brushed" which gives it great lightness and a long meterage.

In 2001, Import Chompas was established with the mission of introducing to the North American market ILLIMANI, a luxury ready-to-wear collection of alpaca and llama wool garments handcrafted by artisans in Bolivia.
After several years in the fashion business, they decided it was time to focus on yarn; by applying all their experience in knitwear and fine wools to carefully select the best natural yarns in the world at unbeatable prices.
Illimani has worked with thousands of artisans in Bolivia and Peru, many of whom have mastered the art of knitting and crochet. Their mission is to provide the materials and inspiration to their customers to help them create their own handmade textiles.
They also work with international aid organizations to support artisans in the Bolivian and Peruvian Andes in marketing their products to North American markets.
